Sussex Masonic Shooting Sports Association

Many Sussex masons participate in a wide range of shooting sports; in particular  the many rough shoots, game shoots, wildfowling and, of course clay shoots

Informal clay shoots provide an opportunity for non masons and partners as well as masons to meet and get to know each other, united by a common interest in shooting.

In several other provinces specific shooting sports lodges have been formed, we are well on the way to forming one here, based in Chichester. Go to Artemis Lodge for more details.

Informal clay pigeon shoots are held on a regular basis at Southdown Gun Club, the mid week ones being on the morning of the first Wednesday in the month.  Other events such as charity and weekend shoots are organised on an occasional basis.  Southdown is conveniently located just north of Worthing near Findon and is right in the heart of the South Downs.

The dates for 2018 are as follows:

4th January, 7th February, 7th March, 4th April, 2nd May, 6th June, 4th July, 1st August, 5th September, 3rd October, 7th November and 5th December.
